Quality refers to the conformance of the features and characteristics promised by a product or service. When a product or service, delivers what it has promised to do, then it is said that product is a quality product. For example, if a pack of cookies, delivers in terms of taste, shelf life, packaging as well as nutritional value, then we say that it is a quality product.

One scenario is on a regular basis, when I buy groceries for home. Here, I buy products, because I can store these items, having shelf life and tangible in nature. So, it is the product, I have purchased.

Though when I go to visit the doctor for some health care issue, then I buy services, because it is intangible and cannot be stored.

Business uses technology to automate the process that produces the products. With the automation of process, less defective products with more quality features can be produced. For example, correct weight of the product is achieved with higher accuracy when technology is used and process is automated.
