Stem and leaf plot is a type of data representation for numbers, usually is like a table with two columns. Tens digit in the left and units in the right. Stems is the label for left and leaves is the label for right.
The "stem" values are listed down, and the "leaf" values go right (or left) from the stem values. The "stem" is used to group the scores and each "leaf" indicates the individual scores within each group
frequency polygon
A frequency polygon is a frequency diagram of grouped data and is an alternative to a histogram. The bars of the histogram are replaced by straight lines joining the mid-points of the tops of the bars.
The advantage of a frequency polygon is that you can easily compare two sets of related data on the same chart – for example, the marks in a test for 50 men and 50 women.
Disadvantage is that if there are plenty of observations the it will be very difficult to understand.
Pareto diagram
The Pareto diagram is a graphical overview of process problems in ranking order from the most frequent, down to the least frequent. It illustrates the frequency of fault or defect types. Using a Pareto, you can decide which is the most serious or frequent offender.
This diagram provides an easy way to compare before and after snapshots to verify that any process changes had the desired result.
one of the disadvantages of Pareto charts is that they provide no insight on the root causes
