1) PNEUMONIA - based on x- Ray of the chest ( CONSOLIDATION )

2) STREPTOCOCCUS PNEUMONIAE - cocci are arranged like a straight line

3) Bacterial meningitis, peritonitis, endocarditis, otitis media, osteomyelitis

4) For Tuberculosis we use Acid - fast bacilli ( Zeil - Neelsen stain ) for staining purpose

Symptoms vary - a. There will be evening rise of temperature

b. Hemoptysis can occur c. Chronic cough d. Loss of weight. e. Night sweats
