I) f​​​​​​x​​​​​(0,0) is negative because at (0,0) if we move along the positive direction of the x axis, while keeping y constant, the value of the function decreases.

II) positive. Because at (1,-1), if we move along the positive direction of the y axis while keeping the value of x constant, the value of the function increases.
