For every goal or idea to succeed, there should be strong planning, as they if your planning is good than you are half done in terms of achieving your goals. Need of planning is popularly discussed topic and is quite rightly so.

Whenever we start to research any new topic or idea, it is advisable to do planning of each and every step to avoid any surprises and minimise the challenges and issue during the process of achieving the goals.

Following are few points which we should definitely consider while planning for our goals

• To begin with we need to have clear ideas, goals and objectives in terms of what we want to achieve so that in terms of other steps we have clarity of thoughts in what is our mission and what we want to get in the end of this process
• Carefully review the resources we have which will help us to achieve our goals
• Identify and review and challenges and issue we might face during the process and accordingly plan actions items for each of them
• Plan on how you will collect any data, samples, resources that will help to achieve the project requirements
• Record each and every step of the process and what will be timelines to achieve our goals
• Try to be as specific when you record the process and do plan so to avoid any confusion in the process of execution

Once we have done our planning half of the work is done however while executing plans we often get issues or challenges for which we have not planned, and then come the need to reflect on the ideas to understand whether we see any modifications or amendments in the goals we have planned, is there any issues in our planning, are we missing anything in our process of execution, why we are not able to get the results for which we had planned. The purpose of reflection is also to help to learn from practical experience, this helps to establish a link between what we have thought we will achieve and what are actually achieving. In the process of reflecting on the ideas we have planned to get we need to do following things:

• Write specific and brief notes on what are challenges we are seeing in our ideas
• Think of main reason why these challenges are coming
• Collect more information which can help to come out of those challenges

Basis the all the inputs received, accordingly carefully revise the goals and further plan to achieve the goals in future and set timelines to achieve them.
