Resonance is the process of cancellation of reactance terms in the circuit at particular resonance frequency so that the signal gain becomes amplified . So using resonance circuit specifically the series RLC resonant circuit you can select the signal frequency around resonant frequency and so can be filtered out easily from the crowd of noise signals . So Resonant Circuit here basically acts as band pass filter (bandwidth defined by half power frequencies around the resonance frequency ) that helps to filter out the required signal.
