2NO + Cl2 ---------> 2NOCl

according to balanced reaction

assuming NO given = 12.0 g (if value is different answer will be different)

2 x 30 g NO reacts with 70.906 g Cl2

12 g NO reacts with 12 x 70.906 / 2 x 30 = 14.18 g Cl2.

but we have 17.8 g Cl2

so Cl2 is excess reagent .

excess Cl2 left over = 17.8 - 14.18 = 3.62 g
