  • The presence of ester group is confirmed by peak at 175 ppm in 13C-NMR
  • 6H singlet at ~3.6 ppm indicates that this group is attached to oxygen  
  • 4H singlet at ~2.7 ppm indicates that this group is attached to Carbonyl
  • Therefore formula of compound is  C6H10O4  M= 146 m/z
  • CH3C(O)CH2CH2C(O)CH3
