Answer #1

a) Standard curve (Absorbance vs Ca2+1 is shown below.

Absorbance (Ca2+] mg/L 0.034 0.17 5 0.332 10 Absorbance vs [Ca2+] mg/L y = 0.033x + 0.002 R2 = 0.999 Absorbance ол ел к п о л

Slope is m = 0.03308 L/mg

b)

For milk diluted 200 times.

absorbance Ca2+]=- m

Ca²+] = 0.207 0.03308 L/mg

Ca2+] = 6.26 mg/L

c)

For undiluted milk,

Ca2+] = 6.26 mg/L X 200 = 1251mg/L - 1.39/L

(19 = 1000 mg)

answer question with full working out please Calcium in a sample solution was determined by atomic absorption spectrophotometry. A 1000 ppm stock solution of calcium was prepared which was then diluted 1:10. Standards were prepared by diluting the second solution, respectively, 1:20, 1:10 and 1:5. The sample solution was diluted 1:25. Strontium chloride was added to all solutions before dilution. Absorbance signals, when the solutions were aspirated into an air-acetylene flame, were as follows: standards, 9.1, 18.6, 37.0; sample 23.9....

    7. The lead level in a sample of contaminated soil was determined using atomic absorption spectrometry. A 2.0 g sample was dissolved in acid and then diluted to a total volume of 50.0 mL. The absorbance of this solution, determined in a spectrometer set at a wavelength of 218 nm, was found to be 0.20. Several standard solutions of lead were tested under the same conditions and the calibration curve shown below was generated. The concentration of lead in the...
