Does a RAD measure accuracy or precision? Explain
Accuracy of a dataset indicates the closeness of the measured values with standard value.
Precision defines the closeness of the measured values with each other.
Relative average deviation (RAD) is equal to mean deviation divided by arithmetic mean. It indicates how much the measured values differs from the arithmetic mean. So, it actually indicated the closeness of the measured values with each other. So, RAD actually measures precision.
4) Does a vernier scale assist in greater precision or greater accuracy? Explain your answer
2. Explain 'accuracy', 'precision' and outlier' (3 pints)
Explain the difference between precision and accuracy. Also illustrate that difference with a schematic representation.
From a set of samples, can we directly calculate estimates of accuracy and/or precision? Explain why?
Explain the difference between accuracy and precision. What is the difference between absolute vs. relative uncertainty? What are the equations commonly used to calculate these terms?

Part 2: Accuracy and Precision I. Select the best description for the scenarios below ACCURACY: O PRECISION:
Accuracy and Precision. Trooper Watkins uses a measuring wheel (image at right) to measure the distances involved in traffic accidents. One rotation of the wheel is supposed to be 36 inches, but it is really only 35 7/8 inches. Trooper Watkins’ new digital measuring wheel has an LED that gives reading to a tenth of an inch. His old mechanical measuring wheel, which was also supposed to be 36” in circumference, was really 36 1/4”. Its analog readout showed measurements...
Part 2: Accuracy vs Precision The objective of this exercise is to understand the difference between precision and accuracy in a series of measurements. Equipment Virtual Bull's Eye (2 sheets with Carbon paper in between) Procedure Part A )Imagine that you lace the Bull's Eye on the floor, and then t drop a small ball from a 2-meter height (say, extending your arm above your head), aiming at the center of the target 2) The ball, hitting the carbon paper,...
