Due to recent technology advances, your company is being forced to downsize and change job responsibilities or be obsolete in four years. In spite of this realization, there are many in the company who are strongly resistant to the necessary changes, thinking that things will return to “normal.”

- What steps and/or methods would you use to overcome their resistance?

Below are the steps and methods necessary to overcome their resistance:

  • Sharing the rationale and details of changes happening in the market along with the technology advances which will make company obsolete
  • Sharing the live of examples of industries who have become non-performing due to lack of action against changes
  • The action plan with road map of downsize along with changes in job responsibility

If in spite of the above details people are resisting, then list of people will be prepared who are not willing to accept changes. They need to be moved out of the organization as part of downsize and to set example for others. It will help to push things forward and overcome resistance.
