I need to write a Statement of Purpose for a public health summer internship. Public health is my major and I find it really interesting and I'm really passionate about it, but I have no experience working in public health to talk about. I need help with it only because it's a pretty selective internship and I want my statement of purpose to sound professional. Even an outline of one would be helpful.

Public health is an umbrella term which covers the entire system of an human were he lives. Public health has its strongest based from the time of ancient period were by people described the generalisation of lack cleanliness and waste disposal may spread the communicable diseases. Thus the overall prevention, promotion, rehabilitation happen from the population at the grass root level is reaching them and that is possible only with training of public health which completely deals with community and its people.

The career objectives are :

# to have a sound knowledge on community, epidemiology, which in turn helps in understanding the population as a unit in a better concrete way.

# To bring about the lasting positive effect on the population present and the future

# To make the community a better place to lead a health life free of illness and infirmity

# overall targeting the population regional, national and world wide by initiating and practicing the research evidences and policies for the betterment of the population.

The motivation came from my brother who is a journalist who always likes social service so whenever there is any disaster he will be the first person to lend a helping hand though his profession is a platform of risks he would still find time to go to the areas which are very poor in hygiene, very vulnerable for all teratogenic effects on health, ill health and help them by enlightening of outbreak of disease. When I asked him that how are you managing your profession and show passion even on the community his answer was service to people is the best deed you can have as a human so I want to be human. This touched a lot and I started thinking I should have the career itself in this stream which would help me to be part of community were by contributing in my best way to increase the life expectancy by preventing injuries and diseases and I made it a point that Right to health should be a very fundamental right to each and every personnel from a 1day newborn to a 85year old man to receive the best care and facility at the earliest.

Till now I have not overcome as am not completely into this but I feel the barrier would be basically the cost effectiveness as the prevention itself costs a individual more than the treatment.

My future education is to have masters and doctorate in public heath were I must be an independent individual in offering my best to my people in development of community, state and nation in a healthy way. I should be the best liason to reach public and government were by the schemes offered by the government is utilised in an effective manner in responding to domestic and other health issues. Thus my professional growth will be the basic public health as each individual contributes in development of a nation.

This internship will give me an blue print of public health in detail which indeed helps me to have a stronger foundation for my further endeavour as I will be exposed and come to know about the community in a better way.

The internship now involves reaching the people at grass root level in the selected regions where there needs are not met with basic amenities which caused them a disease outbreak were in the population is having an increased morbidity and mortality were in the education and early detection and treatment will prevent the spread of chain of infection to pass on to the next region.

I feel I must be selected as am really passionate about the public health and I have an idea generally what is it and how to be a person to improve the community by my cost-effective contribution.

The strong perseverance nature that included being a very active social service member from school days,. My small pilot studies on public health and integrating with over all national health. These information would help HCC to select me as the best person to this field.
