ANSWER - Question 1:

The CO2 is a non-polar molecule, which means that is a great solvent for non-polar or slightly polar compounds (as caffeine and capsaicin). The solubility in CO2 decrease when the molecular weight of compounds increases. The molar mass of caffeine is 194.19 g/mol whereas the molar mass of capsaicin is 305.41 g/mol. Then, the caffeine is expected to have a higher solubility in CO2 than capsaicin.
