Answer #1
NAME OF ANION FORMULA OF ANION
Acetate ion C2H3O2-
Phosphate ion PO43-
Bicarbonate HCO3-
Nitrite ion NO2-
Ammonium ion NH4+
Sulphate ion SO42-

Sodium Bicarbonate can be used to neutralize Hydronium ion. The balanced chemical reaction for the neutralization reaction is:

NaHCO3 (aq) + H+ (aq) ----> Na+ (aq) + CO2 + H2O

So, 1 mole NaHCO3 neutralizes 1 mole of H+ ion

Molar Mass of NaHCO3, that is mass of 1 mole of NaHCO3 = 84g/mol

Thus mass of NaHCO3 used = 0.084 kg

Hence Cost = (0.084 kg )(9.30 $/kg)

= $ 0.78
