You are the Chief Information Security Officer (CISO) for a large corporation, in the Fortune 100. You have about 100,000 employees globally. What will be one of the challenges you can expect to run into if you attempt to start a global data classification program for your enterprise? Think of both business and technical challenges.

While implementing global data classification program into the infrastructure, business faces several issues while categorising the data as per relevance. Once such issue is the data loss. Data loss can happen while performing a global classification program. And data loss is something that business can afford to compromise at any cost. This will hampers the business growth significantly and business has to suffer huge monetary loss as well. The technical perspective is that the application will be hampered in case of data loss and application will remain down until the data is imported again to the application server or database server. Thus results in hampering the business continuity. Moreover, it is very difficult to figure out what data has been lost and restoring the full data will also take much time which business can't compromise.
