Examples of semi-crystalline polymers are linear polyethylene, polytetrafluoroethylene,,polyethylene terephthalate etc. The crystallization of polymers is a process which is associated with the partial alignment of their molecular chains. These polymers typically displays necking behaviour (large amount of strain localizes disproportionately on a specific area) and a yield point in tensile stress/strain curve. When polymers absorbs energy it causes deformation leading to yield points.

Thus for semi-crystalline polymers these deformation mechanism can cause destruction of microns and its orientation leading to colloidal scale morphologies. While analysing the modulus versus temperature cureve of polyethyelene the plot given above is obtained.
