Equation of straight line = y = 3x + 9 .......(1)

Finding value of x- intercept

put y = 0 in equation (1)

0 = 3*x + 9

x = -9/3 = -3

Hence, x - intercept = -3 unit

Part (B)

Finding formula for x- intercept

Equation of straight line = y = mx + b

where m = slope of line , b = any constant

Now put y = 0 in equation of straight line

= 0 = mx + b

x = (- b/m) unit
