The rules on determining how many significant figures are in a number.

● Non-zero digits are always significant.

● Any zeros between two significant digits are significant.

● A final zero or trailing zeros in the decimal portion only are significant.

● Zeros to the left of the first non-zero digit are not significant.

● Trailing and leading zeros in a whole number are not significant.

The number of significant figures in,

0.05 is one

0.060 is two

0.08006 is four

0.160 is three

70.0 is three

4.050 is four

8090.0 is five
