Answer #1

(a) Judd can make 5 fruit smoothies and 1 bowl of coleslaw in an hour. So, Judd will consume 5 fruit smoothies and 1 bowl of coleslaw.
Sarah takes 20 minutes to make coleslaw and 15 minutes to make a smoothie. So, spending half of her time on each product, she can make 2 smoothies in half an hour and only 1 coleslaw in half an hour, as another coleslaw needs extra 10 minutes which she does not have. So, Sarah will consume 2 fruit smoothies and 1 bowl of coleslaw.

(b) Judd requires 6 minutes to make a smoothie and he has 1 hour or 60 minutes. So, he can make a total of 60/6 = 10 smoothies.
Sarah requires 20 minutes to make a bowl of coleslaw and she has 1 hour or 60 minutes. So, she can make a total of 60/20 = 3 coleslaw.
