According to Gauss's law, the total electric flux through a closed surface is equal to the total charge enclosed by the surface.

(a) Total eletric flux through A1 = total charge enclosed by A1 = O1 + O2 = ( 3.5 -1.5) micro-coulomb= 2 micro-coulomb

(b) Total eletric flux through A2 = total charge enclosed by A2 = O3= 0 . (as the third object is electrically neutral)
