Question

1. Write down whether the following statements are true or false, justifying your answer in one or two sentences (a) In a closed system of scientific experiment if systematic variation increases, the error variation wil also increase. (b) The response in an experiment is a random variable. (c) In an experiment if we fail to detect a principle cause of variation then the error variation during the analysis will increase.

Answer #1

(a) FALSE

reason : systematic variation is the variation between groups of observation. Error variation is the variation within the groups of observations.

(b) TRUE

reason : In statistical field any response of an experiment is a random variable because then only we can apply different statistical distribution , testing of hypothesis etc ....

(c) TRUE

reason : if you can able to find some principal causes in an experiment then Total variability can be break as parts of different sources of variability, so the error variability will be decreases. If we fail to do that , error variability will be increases.
