2) Conserving Momentum,

Initial momentum = mv = 30/ 1000 × 500 = 15 kgm/s

Final momentum = (2 + 0.03) v

Hence equating them, we have

2.03 v = 15

v = 7.39 m/s

The speed of the block and bullet is 7.39 m/s

3) As force is rate of change in momentum

Final momentum = 0.06 × (-35) , Initial momentum = 0.06 × 25

Change in momentum = 0.06 × 60 = 3.6 kg m/s

70 = 3.6 /∆t , ∆t = 3.6/70 = 0.051 sec
