I know the answer is wrong. Can anyone explain to me how to hit the target in the simplest way possible and how to decided on which plate? I underlined each answer I have to put in.
It is already mentioned in the diagram. Plates 2 & 3 are respectively denoted by (+) sign that means they are at higher potential. This diagram looks like a sketch of cathode ray tube constructions where the vertical plates are accelerating plates and horizontal plates are focusing plates. The block is an electron. Simplest possible way to understand is that these plates due to their potential difference cause electric field in direction of positive plate towards negative plate and electrons experiances force due to this field and starts accelerating and hence hitting the target.
