The challenges to teens with Down syndrome is greater. As we know it is concerned with mental retardation the patient will have mild to moderate intellectual ability. So this will make the parents more anxious and stressed conditions. About 80% of Down syndrome patient are born with congenital heart defect. Obesity is also a major issue in those patients. Decreased physical activity and endocrine pathology is the other major issues in this category of patient. The more visible features of Down syndrome is midfacial hypoplasia, tonsilar hypertrophy, and narrow ear canals will lead to the issues in teens. In adolescence years the Down syndrome patient may devolop musculoskeletal disorder like ligamentous lanxity and atlantoaxial instability. Pes planus is also an issue which will further lead to hip and knee pain. Sexuality is a concern in Down syndrome patient because they might have a devolopmental sexual behaviour and their secondary sexual character is also devoloped. Many of are unaware of it and do educating the normal people only, every one should understand this issue and promote the sexul education in Down syndrome patient.
