  1. Ms. Smith is a 16-year-old patient with a disability who fell on cement and has a brain aneurysm.
  2. Mr. Vargas is a 75-year-old retired general and infectious disease patient who suffers from a rare infection caused by a dog bite.
  3. Mr. Hu is a 30-year-old accountant and hemophiliac patient with HIV contracted as a child from contaminated blood during a surgery.
  4. Ms. DeYoung is a 23-year-old college student in a persistent coma following an alcohol/drug overdose at a party.
  5. Mr. Carter is a 9-year-old recurring patient with head trauma and is in a persistent vegetative state. Doctors suspect child abuse.

A rare infection caused by dog bite is capnocytophaga canimosus be very serious causing infection and sepsis.This needs an immediate treatment otherwise can be fatal

Mr.Hu exhibits no symptoms which needs admission

A patient in persistent coma due to alcohol overdose has a chance to be recovered if the alcohol overdose is reversed, so can be admitted

A patient who is in persistent vegetative state needs a mechanical support to live
