Performance appraisal is a type of management control where in objectives are given to the subordinates that are task driven and rewards are given when these objectives are met. While implementing this control the organization leaders will face the below challenges.

1. Unable to supervise and monitor the completion of the tasks when there are multiple people mapped to a single leader.

2. Unability of the leaders to envision meaningful objectives

3. Not being able to measure qualitative contributions

4. Not being able to manage people who are not driven by rewards

5. Having to follow bell curve which leads to demotivation of employees.

Employee frustration and demotivation can be caused due to various reasons have listed some below .

1. Long working hours.

2. Non- productive work

3. No appreciation

4 .no challenges or new work ( monotonous work )

The control system in terms of performance appraisal can be used to motivate employee by following the below steps.

a). Involve employee in drawing the objectives.

b). Put in brain storming activities wherein the point of view of employees are taken Into consideration.

c). Give the employees a chance to put forward their contribution and consider the same for their performance appraisal

d). Be fair and impartial
