Concepts and reason

Hybridization of an atom is identified by the number of atoms bonded to it. Count all the sigma bonds and lone pairs in order to determine the hybridization.

Fundamentals

Hybridization is the process in which two or more orbitals of different energy mix with each other in order to generate same number orbitals of equal energy.

Chemical bonding is essential in order to understand the hybridization and geometry around an atom. A chemical bond is an attraction force between atoms which is long-lasting and gives some useful information about the chemical compounds. It can be formed via electrostatic attraction between two atoms or through the electron sharing between two atoms.

The structure of the cyanazine with the representation of lone pairs is as follows:

H3C
N—¢-CH3
