Give complete genetic explanations for this scenario: pair of otherwise identical twins, one of whom is normal and the other has Down syndrome.
I understand that nondisjunction can occur with dizygotic twins leading to one that is normal and one that has Down syndrome. However, I believe that would make the twins fraternal as they would be fertilized by two different sperm. Is there any way this could occur with monozygotic twins? Am I misunderstanding something?

In case of monozygotic twins MOSAICISM Can occur which is unequal distribution of chromosomes during cell division after fertilization .some cells then have 46 (normal) chromosomes other 47(trisomy).
