A person with symptoms of a heart attack came to the office early in the morning after you clock in at work? The provider is not in the office yet and there are no other health care providers present and the patient becomes unresponsive. What do you do?
A heart attack is an emergency procedure that needs immediate medical attention. A heart attack is otherwise known as Myocardial infraction.
the myocardial infarction is characterized by a lack of blood supply to the heart muscle due to any blockage in coronary arteries as a result in death of affect tissue.
In this case, the patient has symptoms of a heart attack and also becomes unresponsive.
First, inform other health care providers to come first. Then you assess the condition of the patient I.e Check the carotid pulse of the patient by pressing two-finger on the side of the neck and then assess that the patient is currently breathing or not.
If there is no pulse and the person is not currently breathing then start CPR.
If the person becomes responsive then give first aid of a heart attack,
I.e MONA
M - Morphine (for reliving of severe pain caused aaby heart attack)
O - Oxygen (To increase oxygen saturation)
N - Nitroglycerin (It dilates the coronary artery and also relieves pain)
A - Aspirin (Antiplatelet agent)
