Answer #1
Concepts and reason

This problem is based on the concept of acid base reactions.

Acid are the species that loses the proton (H+)\left( {{{\rm{H}}^{\rm{ + }}}} \right) whereas, bases are the species that abstract the proton. Acid-base reactions involve the transfer of hydrogen ion from acid to base.

Fundamentals

The electron density of base is high as compared to the acid, thus it readily attacks on electrophilic species like hydrogen ion. Basic species usually contains the lone pairs of electrons and negative charge.

Methylamine is a primary amine which has high electron density at nitrogen atom which makes it a base whereas acetic acid as the name suggests, is an acid which donates a hydrogen ion in the presence of a strong Base.

The reaction takes place by the following mechanism:

CH3
CH3
:NH2
NH
H₃C
OH
Hzc
o

Ans:

Products of the acid base reaction are as follow:

NHET
H₃C
Ó H₃c
