The clot may occur in vessel in the lungs, brain (stroke), gastrointestinal tract,etc. The drugs used in the treatment of this disorder are: anticoagulants such as

  • Coumarins (warfarin) it is a blood thinner.
  • Direct Thrombin Inhibitors ( dabigatran )
  • Factor Xa Inhibitors ( apixaban)

* Drugs used for diuresis:

Diuretics are used to treat several conditions such as hypertension, heart failure, and some types of kidney disease.

  • Thiazide diuretics( chlorothiazide )
  • Loop diuretics ( furosemide )
  • Potassium-sparing diuretics( spironolactone )
