Moving forward in different labs we will not be telling you what solution to prime your filter paper with for filtration techniques. Based on what you have learned how will know what solution to use to prime your filter paper? Why can't you just use the same solution to prime no matter the experiment?

Answer #1

Filter paper is actually used in laboratory for the separation purpose.

Filter paper consists very small pores which do not allow to pass solute particle with size more than hundred nano-meter. Therefore, if we have a heterogeneous solution( that is Suspension which consists of large solute particles compare to solvent particles ) then we can use filter paper to separate different component of the solution. But if we have a true solution or colloidal solution then we can not use filter paper to separate the component of solution because in this case filter allow to pass through it due to very small size of solute particles as well as solvent particle.

Suspension is a kind of heterogeneous solution in which solute components are insoluble. So in an experiment if a suspension type solution is formed then we can simply use filter paper to separate them.

Hope you satisfies with the answer.

In your opinion, what does forward interest rate capture? Why do you think it is important to know the forward rate? Assume that as of today we have an annualized two-year interest rate of 11 percent, while the current one-year interest rate is 9 percent. Given this information, estimate the one-year forward rate and describe how you got the answer.

Background In this lab, we are going to learn how to use a powerful separation technique called chromatography which can separate compounds that are quite similar to one another. Chromatography is a general type of separation in which a mixture of compounds passes through a stationary phase. Different compounds have different relative affinities for the mixture traveling along the stationary phase, or the mobile phase, and the stationary phase, causing these compounds to separate from one another. More specifically, we’re...

Recrystallization of Acetanilide was conducted using water as our solvent. First we had to choose a solvent based (water was chosen as our solvent due to it not dissolving acetanilide at room temp but dissolved it when heated) Then we performed recrystallizaation, vacuum filtration and then melting point measurements. For the post lab discussion for recrystallization of acetanilide report we have to address several different arguments. The ones below I'm not sure what to focus on to completely defend what...
