a] impulse = change in momentum = mv - mu

= 0.143*51 - 0.143*-42

= 13.3 Ns

b] magnitude of the average force = impulse/time

= 13.3 Ns/0.0048s = 2771 N answer

c] Fav/mg = 2771/(0.143*9.8) = 1977 times the weight of the ball
