The ionization energy of an atom is the amount of energy that is required to remove an electron from a mole of atoms in the gas phase. It is more precisely known as the first ionization energy.

The ionization energy decreases from top to bottom in groups, and increases from left to right across a period.

Among S, Ca, F, Rb, and Si, F belongs to 2nd period, S and Si belongs to 3rd period (atomic radius of S is less than Si), Ca belongs to 4th period and Rb belongs to 5th period.

So the decreasing order of first ionization energy (largest to smallest) is: F > S > Si > Ca > Rb
