Answer #1

Option A is the right answer.

Increase in par value of stocks held = Closing common stock- Opening common stock

= 4800,000- 4500,000

= $ 300,000

Increase in capital surplus = Closing capital surplus – Opening surplus

= 11300,000 – 8600,000

=2,700,000

Net proceeds from sale of new stock = 300000+ 2700000

= 3,000,000
