Question

Problem 1) A car starts from rest at x 0 and 0, travelling in a straight line. The car speeds up and then slows down until it comes back to rest at a distance of 0.900 km from where it started. For the first quarter of the distance, its acceleration is +2.25 m/s2, while for the last three quarters of the distance its acceleration is -0.750 m/s2. (a) Find the travel time for the entire trip. (b) Find the maximum speed during the trip. (c) Find the cars velocity at 25.0 s. (d) Draw separate qualitative graphs of the position x, velocity Vx, and acceleration ax vs. time for the trip. (A qualitative graph can be sketched freehand, but should have the correct shape, and indicate the values of significant quantities such as the ending position, the maximum velocity, the acceleration values, and significant times throughout the motion on the axes of the graph.)
