diameter of the bullet, d = 0.270in

Area of the cross-section of the bullet, A = ( pi/4)*d2 = ( pi/4)* (0.270)2 =0.05726 in2

Force on the bullet, F = P.A = (34500 lb/in2) * (0.05726 in2) =1975.316 lb = (1975.316 * 4.45) N = 8790.15 N (ans)
