Note: The pressure is also the highest for column A.

(ii) The resolution of column C is the least, hence Column C has a smaller plate height.

Note: The pressure is also the least for column C.

(iii) The retention time of the compound with the highest partition coefficient = 2.0 min (The average)

(iv) To maintain good resolution.
