5. b ) MnF7 is a unstable in nature and does not exist due to the large amount of steric repulsion between large no. of F- and a single Mn atom.. Mn can show maximum +4 oxidation state with as MnF4 .

5. a) Re belongs to the same group of Mn but its size is larger than Mn as its belong to the 6th period of the periodic table. Thus Re can accomodate the large number of F atoms around its orbital and produces ReF7 as a more stable compound than ReF4 due to the fullfilled electronic configuration.
