The first-floor-to-floor height is to be 11ʹ-4ʺ, and second-floor-to-roof height is to he 12ʹ-8ʺ. Put columns on approximate 18ʹ-0ʺ centers; use one elevator, two separate stairwells, toilets, and storage. Reserve space for air-conditioning equipment. Reserve the first-floor level for entry, checkout, conference, receiving, periodicals, reference, and audiovisuals. On the mezzanine level, provide book stacks of various sizes with convenient cir culation arrangements around the perimeter of the building.
