The following exercises should be done on 8½ʺ × 11ʺ drawing paper with a ½ʺ border. Some of the drawings require the use of instruments; others may be done freehand.

Using guidelines ¼ʺ high and  between each set, divide the sheet into three equally spaced columns. Using architectural style lettering, number 1 through 39 vertically (each vertical row will contain thirteen ¼ʺ-high guidelines and 13 numbers). Using Fig. 12-1, cover the written terms with opaque paper, read the numbers on the drawing of the house, and letter on the numbered lines the proper term for the items identified by numbers 1 through 39.
