A randomized double-blind experiment compared the effectiveness of several drugs in ameliorating postoperative nausea. All patients were anesthetized with nitrous oxide and ether. The following table shows the incidence of nausea during the first four postoperative hours for each of several drugs and a placebo (Beecher 1959). Compare the drugs to each other and to the placebo.
