Do the following exercises on 8½ʺ × 11ʺ drawing paper with a ½ʺ border, using drawing instruments.

Using two of the floor plans developed in Exercise 1 at a scale of ¼" = 1ʹ-0ʺ, draw the side and end elevation views of the door and window walls. Use the 6ʺ C.M.U. plan with 12ʺ board-and-batten siding at the triangular gable ends of the roof. Use the brick veneer plan with a hip roof. Floor-lo-ceiling heights are 8ʹ-0ʺ; roof pitches are 7:12 with fiber-glass shingles; overhangs are 1ʹ-4ʺ with a 1ʹ × 6ʹ fascia; and buildings are slab on grade. Poché and label all materials.

Draw four floor plans of a small storage facility 8'-0" wide by 12'-0" long (outside dimensions) at a scale of ¼" - 1'-0". Center a six-panel 3'-0" × 6'-8" door on the 12'-0" wall and a 4'-6" × 5'-2" double casement window on the 8'-0" wall. Four different materials will be used for wall construction. Draw one plan with 4" wood stud walls; draw the second plan with 6" C.M.U. walls; draw the third plan with 8" concrete walls; and draw the fourth plan with 6" wood stud walls and 4" brick veneer. Place exterior and interior dimensions on each plan.
