Deism is a belief in a God who created the universe but remains apart from it. It is a belief that rejects the supernatural aspects of religion. People who have this kind of belief are called as deists and they disagree with strong atheists, who say that there is no evidence of the existence of God. It cannot be said that deists lack the belief on God, but do not accept the belief of most religions.

There is no central authority to define deism. Deism’s concept has wide variety of positions on a wide variety of religious issues. It is a natural religion. It is quite different from religions like Islam, Christianity and Judaism. It lies between theism and atheism. Some of the features of deism are given as follows:

1. Deists believe that everything that exists has a creator.

2. They also believe that God has given humans the ability to reason.

3. They do not believe or are doubtful on the religious mysteries, prophecies and miracles.

4. It rejects the religions that are based on books.

5. Some deists believe that they are Christians because of purity in the religion and it has existed before the additions of superstitious belief.

6. They reject the supernatural beliefs of religion.

7. They respect some portions of holy texts.

8. They believe that the paths moving towards knowledge are logical, reasonable and observational.

9. They also believe that God do not have human feelings.

10. They think that God does not listen to or answer prayers
