Forebrain is the largest part of the brain, which enclose several important structures that include,
• Thalamus (organizes the sensory stimulus)
• Hypothalamus (regulation of endocrine secretions and body temperature)
• Pituitary gland (release of endocrine hormones)
• Limbic system (motivation, memory and mood)
• Olfactory bulb (smell)
• Cerebral cortex (language, level of consciousness, etc.)
The important functions of forebrain include memory, thought process and regulation of behaviour and motor activities.
