Discharge pressure and flow measurements were recorded under a variety of pumping conditions at a city's high-lift station in order to gather data to draw pump head-discharge curves. The following is a summary of the results:

(a) Plot these data as three pump head-discharge curves on graph paper, as discussed in Section 4-4. (b) Assume these curves are for the pumping station in Figure 6-17. Plot a system head-discharge curve for the conditions shown in Figure 6-17 on the same graph, as discussed in Section 4-5. (c) At maximum daily flow (6.0 mgd), how many pumps are operating and what is the discharge pressure? (d) Assume the station is operating with four pumps at a discharge head of 175 ft and 6.0 mgd. What happens to the dis-charge flow and pressure conditions if a fifth pump is turned on? If one of the four pumps is turned off?
