Binge drinking.“Binge alcohol use” is often defined as drinking five or more alcoholic drinks on the same occasion at least one time in the past 30 days. The following table lists data from the National Survey on Drug Use and Health based on a representative sample of the U.S. population of age 12 years and older. Data represent estimated percentages reporting binge drinking in 2003 and 2008. There were about 68,000 respondents in each time period.
