An additive to interior house paint has been recently developed that may greatly increase the ability of the paint to resist staining. An investigation was conducted to determine whether the additive is safe when exposed to children. Various amounts of the additive were fed to test animals and the number of animals developing liver tumors was recorded. The data are given in the following table.

a. Use the computer output given here to determine whether the amount of additive given to the test animals is associated with the probability of a tumor developing in the liver of the animal.

b. Compute the probability of a tumor developing in the liver of a test animal exposed to 100 ppm of the additive. Place a 95% confidence interval on your estimate.
