If a weighted graph has vertices A, B, C, and so on, a variation of the nearest neighbor algorithm is to use the algorithm to find a Hamilton circuit starting at A, then find another one starting at B, then find another one starting at C, and so on. Then pick the Hamilton circuit from among these that has the smallest weight. We will call this algorithm the extended nearest neighbor algorithm.
