Does handling a museum object have a positive impact on a sick patient’s well-being? To answer this question, researchers at the University College London collected data from 32 sessions with hospital patients ( Museum&Society , Nov. 2009). Each patient’s health status (measured on a 100- point scale) was recorded both before and after handling museum objects such as archaeological artifacts and brassetchings. The data (simulated) are listed in the accompanying table and saved in the MUSEUM file.
